Seminar « Space : a New horizon for Entrepreneurship »

TELNET Holding group organized in partnership with Sfax Technopark and regional UTICA of Sfax a seminar under the theme "Space: a new horizon for entrepreneurship", on 25th and 26th April 2018 in the city of Sfax and with the participation of "Aerospace Valley Toulouse".

This seminar proposed five plenary sessions dealing about: the ecosystem and training, IOT by satellite, Earth Observation by satellite, Funding Potentials and “Unmanned Aerial Vehicle” UAV Earth Observation.

On the occasion of the international seminar, TELNET Holding group signed an agreement with the Japanese FUJI IMVAC, specialized in the manufacture of UAVs. The goal is to launch a new ecosystem in Tunisia to design and develop UAVs by Tunisian engineers. FUJI IMVAC will be in charge of marketing, training and skills transfer.

TELNET Holding group signed also a second agreement with the Saudi company Middle East Fiber Cable Manufacturing “MEFC” , leader in manufacturing fiber optic cables, and solution provider for the telecommunications and industrial sectors in MENA markets. The goal is to establish mutual business opportunities in the telecommunications and information technology sectors and setup a joint venture based on Research, Development and integration services on Aerospace, Nanosatellite, New Energy Technologies & Telecom & Multimedia.

In this context, Sfax Technopark hosted, the same day, inauguration ceremony of the project "Sfax Space Valley" which will install a RDI (Research & Development & Innovation) center dedicated to space technologies with an employability capacity of 500 engineers. The objective is to manufacture Tunisian UAV and to launch by 2020 the first Tunisian nanosatellite "CHALLENGE ONE", whose components were unveiled on this occasion.
